Corrections to Connections

Break the cycle.

Every year in the United States, more than 650,000 individuals are released from prison into a world that drastically changed during their sentence. Our students are a skilled population with untapped potential, often coming from underserved communities that don’t have access to high-quality business materials and resources.

That’s where Resilience Education comes in. It is our goal to make high-quality business curricula more accessible in order to reduce re-incarceration rates and combat the collateral consequences of mass incarceration.Through our relationship with the Darden School of Business we train MBA volunteer instructors to teach university-quality coursework focused on Entrepreneurship, Financial Capability, and Business Foundations. These courses give our students the opportunity to acquire the skills, confidence, and practical knowledge they need to chart a future outside prison walls.

Since 2011, our 550+ MBA student instructors from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business , Columbia Business School, and Wharton have taught in Virginia, New York, and Pennsylvania prisons, graduating over 1000 students.

We were treated like normal human beings, despite our mistakes that led us there. When you are attending these classes, you would almost forget for a second that you were in prison.
